About Dr. Lundeen
Designing Learning That Works
Dr. Lundeen is a teacher turned educational psychologist dedicated to helping organizations design, evaluate, and improve learning programs using evidence-based research and real-world application.
For over two decades, she has applied learning science and motivation principles in practice, leading global learning design teams, developing high-quality multimedia online courses for leading universities, and helping organizations evaluate learning effectiveness to drive meaningful change.
She is also Associate Lecturer at the University of San Diego for the MS in Learning Design and Technology program. She teaches courses focused on instructional design, research methods, and educational psychology related to the cognitive science of learning, motivation, and academic self-regulation.
Dr. Lundeen received her EdD in educational psychology from the University of Southern California.

LDT 520 Advanced Learning Theory and Design: Examine advanced topics in instructional design, including needs assessment, learner characteristics, alignment of learning objectives, instructional strategies, and formative and summative assessment. Explore critical theories used to frame how we understand learning and motivation. Learn to employ sound design principles and best practices in planning, designing and evaluating effective learning experiences.
LDT 550 Educational Research Methods: Focus on using evidence-based research and data to inform program and instructional design decisions, conduct a review of scholarly literature to investigate a topic and identify gaps in the research, pose research questions, and write a research proposal for further study.

About Kia Hill
Designing Robust and Engaging Learning
Kia, founder and principal consultant for OneSource Consulting Edge, designs robust and engaging learner-centered learning experiences by carefully analyzing prior knowledge, interests, abilities, cultural inferences, learning environment, and potential challenges.
Her learning philosophy is that all learners can learn and are inherently intrinsically motivated to learn when learning activities activate prior knowledge to support information processing for meaningful encoding, storage, and retrieval of information into long-term memory.
She holds a Master of Education degree in Learning, Design, and Technology from USC and a demonstrated history working in higher education, educational technology, and the healthcare industry, possessing strong learning and development, training, instructional design, project and program management, evaluation, and strategic planning skills.
